Stay Insured
With the recession starting to pinch, the Motor Insurers’ Bureau grew concerned that millions of drivers across the United Kingdom might just let their car insurance lapse – and risk a hefty fine, having their car impounded, and even prison in the process. And since in 2010 Britain’s police forces will be lying in wait with ANPR technology to catch – and seize – uninsured cars, the MIB wanted to show motorists that the risks just weren’t worth it.
Rather than seeking to nanny or lecture, the ‘Stay Insured’ campaign showed motorists that a few simple steps – such as choosing the right fuel for their car, driving more diligently, checking tyre pressures and removing unnecessary junk from their boot – which could help them save money and hang onto their motor.
An integrated campaign, we worked alongside PR partners 3 Monkeys Communications to develop ‘Stay Insured’ from the ground up; with online display advertising, a supporting microsite, radio advertising featuring Philip Glenister (DCI Gene Hunt in Life on Mars), insurers’ digital toolkits and direct email marketing featuring prominently.
As a result we’re hoping to help Britain’s twenty million motorists stay insured in 2010 and beyond.
